Acworth, Georgia
A bookkeeper in Acworth, not a call center
Certified ProBooks is run by Beryl Williams from Acworth, in Cobb County. Monthly bookkeeping, catch-up work, payroll and sales tax for small businesses here and across the north-west metro — Kennesaw, Woodstock, Marietta, Powder Springs, Dallas, Canton and Cartersville.
What local business owners usually come to us with
Acworth is a town of small operators — trades and contractors working the I-75 corridor, shops and restaurants near Main Street and the lakes, and a steady number of people who went out on their own and found the admin grew faster than they did. The problems that bring them here are fairly consistent.
The books stopped being done
Months, sometimes years — usually because the business got busy, which is the good reason for it to happen. Catch-up and clean-up is a defined piece of work with a start and a finish, and it is the most common thing we are asked for.
Business and personal are mixed together
One card, one account, everything through it. It is fixable, and it matters more than most people realize: it is what makes a return hard to file and a loan application hard to support.
Payroll and sales tax arrived suddenly
The first employee, or the first month of taking payments at a counter. Georgia sales tax and payroll filings have their own deadlines, and they do not wait for you to have time.
Why being in Acworth actually matters
Honestly? Less than you would think, and we would rather say so. Nearly all of the work is remote, and plenty of clients never need a meeting. What being local does change:
- You can sit down with the person doing the work. Not a portal, not an account manager. If you would rather hand over a year of paperwork across a table than scan it, that is available.
- Same deadlines, same state rules. Georgia sales tax, Cobb County business license renewals, Georgia payroll filings — handled every month, not looked up for your case.
- You can check on us. Reviews on Google from real local businesses, and a person whose name is on the door.
And if you are not in Acworth at all — Certified ProBooks works with clients across the country. The bookkeeping does not care where you are.

Questions people ask before they call
Do we have to meet in person?
No. Most of the work happens remotely, and plenty of clients never need a meeting at all. Being in Acworth simply means that if you would rather sit down together, that is an option.
My books are badly behind. Is that a problem?
No. Catch-up and clean-up is a normal service, not a confession. Books that are a year or more behind are routine work, and there is a defined process and a finish line.
Do you do income tax returns?
No. Certified ProBooks does not prepare income tax returns. We keep the books so that whoever files your return has clean, reconciled numbers to work from, and we can refer you to someone if you need one.
Which software do you work in?
QuickBooks Online most often, and Xero. If you are on neither, we will tell you honestly whether moving is worth the effort for a business your size.
